Eastern Nova
Scotia's Scottish Dance Troupe
The Scotia
Highland Dancers is a registered non-profit society dedicated to
providing the youth of eastern Nova Scotia with the opportunity
to participate, through music and dance, in the Scottish culture
that plays such a major role in the communities from which its
members are drawn.
In order to
continue to develop new dances, costumes, and to purchase music
and assist with travel costs, the troupe undertakes
many fundraising projects each year. Each year, we
hold a dinner auction, sell pizza at the Highland
Games and the Eastern Nova Scotia Exhibition and sell raffle
tickets. In 2003, we have produced a
Scotia Highland Dancer Cookbook with recipes contributed by
current and former dancers, parents and friends.
These are available for a cost of $ 10.00 and make
excellent gifts!
Our annual patron
campaign is a major part of our fundraising efforts. Patronage
is tax deductible and all patrons receive tickets to our major
July Concert and are acknowledged in the program at this
concert.
In 2003, we
have produced a cookbook titled "Scotia Highland
Dancers' Kitchen Ceilidh" which features recipes
contributed by current and former dancers, parents and friends.
These are available for a cost of $ 10.00 and make
excellent gifts!
